Discover the secrets of Athens and Ancient Corinth. Visit the most important monuments of Athens. Cross the Isthmus of Corinth and visit ancient sites like the Temple of Apollo and the Acropolis of Corinth.

Starting with a pickup from your Athens hotel we will see the most important monuments of Athens.

You will have the chance to admire the magnificent panorama of the city from Lycabetus hill at 908 ft. (277 m). Lycabettus stands high above Athens, commanding a clear view across the Attica basin and the Aegean. At the top of the hill is the church of St.George, a stunning whitewashed church , which dates back to 1870.

You will marvel the Acropolis which UNESCO calls the symbol of World Heritage. It’s the symbol of democracy and Greek civilization. It’s the site of four of the greatest masterpieces of classical Greek art – the Parthenon (former temple on the Athenian Acropolis, Greece, dedicated to the goddess Athena), Propylaia (the monumental gateway to the Acropolis), the Erechtheion (is an ancient Greek temple on the north side of the Acropolis of Athens in Greece which was dedicated to both Athena and Poseidon) and the Temple of Athena Nike.

We will head over to Sydagma square and admire the changing of the guards (evzones) in front of the Greek parliament and the memorial of the Unknown soldier.

Next is Monastiraki square, and the trilogy of our culture (the academy of Athens, the university, and the national library). We will continue and admire the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch and the Panathenaic Stadium (also known as the Kallimármaro (Καλλιμάρμαρο), meaning the “beautifully marble”, is the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble that hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896.

You will also have free time in the ancient neighborhood of Athens close to Acropolis, named Plaka. Plaka is full of people, music, typical restaurants “tavernas”, beautiful houses, cozy cafes, little shops of souvenirs.

We will continue our journey by crossing the highway and stopping at the Canal (Isthmus) of Corinth. We will witness the narrow strip of land that connects mainland Greece to the Peloponnese. while the canal drilled across it connects the Saronic with the Corinthian Gulf, thus connecting the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea.

We will continue on to Ancient Corinth and admire the famous and imposing archaic Temple of Apollo, with monolithic Doric columns of which seven still stand prominently above the ruins of the ancient Agora.

We will visit Acrocorinth (the Acropolis of Corinth), a steep rock 575 meters height that dominates the plain of Corinth. We will learn about the strategic location of Acrocorinth such that the Corinthians could control the only entrance from mainland Greece to Peloponnese and all communication between Corinth and the Saronic Gulf. We will enjoy the impressive panoramic view of the area and take pictures to remember your trip.

Finally, you can sit back and relax on the drive back to your accommodation in Athens.
